Re: timming issue

Timing is 30 degrees before Top Dead Center at Wide Open Throttle. To get this, with the engine running at WOT and someone else driving the boat, set the 36 degree mark on the flywheel to the -4 line on the pointer. Use the screw between the two black plastic blocks to set timing. Shut the engine and make an adjustment then restart and test with the light. Repeat until timing is correct. Do it this way because there is a real danger of getting a finger or hand into the flywheel if done while running.

Re: timming issue

No. It is not 10, it is the way Chrysler stamped "0" degrees. The line that looks like a 1 is actually the "0" degree line. If you have no 36 degree mark, you can count the number of teeth in the flywheel and divide into 360. This gives you the number of degrees per tooth. Count out the correct number of teeth to the left of the "0" line to mark 30 degrees. Now, when timing, set that 30 degree mark to the large line on the pointer.
