Hi everyone....I am looking to re-power my personal boat with a larger motor. My hull can handle up to 150 HP. I found a boat/motor combo that would do the trick. The current 1995 75 HP Mercury on my boat was damaged due to an oil injection issue. The motor on the boat I am looking at is also oil injection. It is a 1987 150 HP Black Maxx XR2. If I go with this engine swap I would love to just pre-mix the fuel and oil myself. Any idea what is involved with switching this engine to pre-mix instead of oil injection? Does anybody have info about the reliability of these motors? They seem pretty popular... especially with racers. Thanks in advance for any input!
