Prop shaft was frozen in this unit and gear oil was dried up. After a week soaking in WD40 prop and pinion shafts are now spinning freely. Teeth on the gears are pristine. The pinion shaft/clutch pilot and spring assembly does not move up and down so it is stuck in neutral. Is there a way to disassemble the prop and pinion shafts for deep cleaning? I think the pinion gear might be pressed onto the pinion shaft at the factory.
