I am just about ready to fire this motor up and I noticed something that may be wrong. Is there supposed to be that much vertical play in the transom clamp assy and the drive tube. I just can't remember. I have seen Mindspin post/pics on his TN28 and it doesn't look like mine. I must have done something wrong.

I've got mine completely disassembled at the moment but I took almost 100 pictures of the whole thing prior so I'll check tomorrow to see if I have anything more accurate to compare.

Here's my TN26. From my picture it looks like there may be a spacer?? I'll check my motor tomorrow.

I too have a pic or two before I disassembled and it was like that before, but it's good to compare to other's motors. I got my motor to run briefly (about 20 seconds) Friday. Looks like I have to go through carb cleaning again. It would run only at high speed, about the last third of throttle. TN28 pic 1.jpg
