I have a 15'6" fiberglass bass boat with a 75hp merc outboard w/ a 19p prop. The o/b does not have a tilt and trim so I am going to add a CMC T/T. The CMC T/T has a set back of about 6".

Would a powerlift Jack plate of 5" be too much with the T/T ( 11" setback).

Any help would be Greatly Appreciated :D

Not knowing what hull type you have makes it hard to say but I would guess at yes, it's too much on that short of a boat. I would try the trim unit first and compare that to your established base line. If you still needed more X dimension I would go with a Bob's manual that can be converted to a 3" set back.

Good luck!

Re: TNT and Jackplate use

Thanks Dhadley,

The boat is a Glasstream with a transom width of 5'9".
The bow of the boat is like a tri-hull and about half way back the outside part of the tri-hull merges into the bottom like a v-type preformance bass boat the last 2' of the boat is almost flat and the pad is about 1' wide and about 1 1/2" below the rest of the hull. The boat also has a hard chine and 1 step. The hull probally weighs about 700 lbs. then include 2 60# batteries, 12 gal of gas, 75hp o/b, and myself(210#) and gear(40#).
I might just have to stick with the tnt and be happy. :D

thanks again
