Look I an 28 I bout a 1990 Baylier with a 90 foce out board. I have rebuilt the hole boat almost. I looks Great I have some great pices of it too. But to get at the matter at hand I have read a few of these posts and I have to say I have beat the hell out of my boat and that engine may die hear and their but its still cheaper to repair any day . I have a little more nolage then the normall guy out their My and an extra hand when working on it. Thank God for Dads> And this is My point my has worked on every boat engine out their. And dont always believe a dealer. Hears a storie I put My boat in the shop had then put a new water pump in it finally got a chance to take it out an it over heated.And i didn't understand why.So i put it back in and asked them to check it that i was probly the water pump that they just put in 2 months pryer. I got a call a few days later saying the poweer head was scored and shot that it was a gasket that went so i called my father he told me to pull the head and if thier is no guages thad to move the cylinders and no leaks it was fine then. So i brought it wo a nother shop it cost me but hey pulled it apart and it was the water pump. I replace it and put a new gasket on and took it ou the next day.But i got a manaul now and after 4 years keeping it basiclly wide open doing 40mph and jumping 6 foot waves in the ocean. prop and all out of the water.My 3rd pistol's rings are going.So im rebuilding. P.S. Remember new is not always better and rember to check your trancet to make sure it will hold the new one not weight wise but its strong enough for the stress.
