To paint or not to paint?

I have a 1959 crestliner that has been in my family for 50+ years. I would like to bring some new life to the boats appearance and giving thought to painting it. I have painted older aluminum boats before with success but with the amount this boat means to me I am hesitant to start project without ample research.

Do you guys think the boat would take paint ok?

Do you think painting the boat is a good or bad idea?

Is there any other way to shine her up after 60 years of weather and lake scum wear....

Thanks.

with proper prep work, you can paint anything

its up to you if painting is a good idea or not

it will take elbow grease no mater what you do.

Check the stickies at the top of the forum. It has a LOT of info on Prepping and Painting Aluminum Boats.
