Greetings! I just came across a a boat , through an inheritance. It's a 16 foot grew?? I think that's the name. Anyhow, the motor is the problem. It's a 115 horse inline 6 Mariner....1980 I believe. 6 years ago one of the piston's blew, I confirmed this with a compression test. Ever since then, It's been sitting in a backyard. The boat has been uncovered, so it's full of leaves and water. How long can an engine sit there before it siezes? Do you think it's worth a fix? Or should I just scrap her? The floor is solid, so that isn't a concern. Any input would be greatly appreciated, as the wife wants me to scrap her!

not to sure but chances are the seals will be dryed and cracked after 6 years of sitting

Thanks gents, but I'm gonna be a fool and rebuild her. Got a good scrapyard uphere...(Montreal Canada) and used parts are cheap..so stay put, there are bound to be more questions!
