I am in need of a toggle switch for my tilt/trim, so I can mount it on my console instead of on the side of my control box.

I need one that has an up/down function, not an on/off function.

What is a specific name of a switch like this? I have been looking around town, and can only find an on/off, nothing that automatically centers itself.

Does anyone sell one that is stainless or corrosion resistant?

Thanks!
Shawn

Shawn,

The designation for the switch you want is:

"Momentary On-off-On"

Go to this site and look at item # 1675:

www.surplusunlimited.com

The answer man...thanks again.

That's what I'm looking for, just wasn't sure what to search for.

Now I need a nice looking stainless steel plate with name tags on it for each switch, think this place has one?

Thanks!
Shawn

Shawn,

They won't have the plate, but they do have the name tags. Search on that site using the words "identi plates".

You can usually find some pre rigged switch panels on e-bay. Use the search words: switch panel.

Also, this guy http://www.kv-e.com/ usually has some panels. He is a regualr on the board here, known as "Valv".

Re: Toggle switch recommendations?

crestcraft,

The boat only cost me $500, and I put a $400 nissan 90hp engine on it. SO, basically, I've only got $900 into it. The boat is only to hold me over for a year, probably less, and I'll be done building my own boat. So, I'd like to keep the cost down...but at the same time, I dont want it to be a POS. Clean wiring is a must of mine, I hate having a birds nest of wiring. It is also a fishing boat, so, I'm not really looking for looks, just function for the most part.

BUT, I may think about the carbon fiber on the boat I'm building.. (Phantom 22 on www.bateau.com)

Thanks guys
Shawn
