Unusual peeing clogs have been reported on engines that pees through lower tray & tail like in 9.9-15-18-40C models and that are well flushed after each use. After clog is "removed" to clog again days latter, one would assume it's a impeller issue; remove lower tail, change impeller or complete kit, to find it continues to clog again eternally.
Have discovered that it's not salt crusts or impeller issues, it's the strange gelatine sludge, a mixture of ethanol, gasoline, 2 stroke oil that restricts water flow through passages located on top lower tray where engine block sits. Running a wire, compressed air or W-40 upwards pee hole is a momentary correction, if wanting to see peeing again like a teenager you must remove complete engine block to clean thoroughly related inside area to solve the peeing problem.
Take advantage that crank case has been removed to specially torque all bolts which are difficult to access while block sits on tray, located on lower cylinder head, exhaust cover and inlet manifold, will be surprised to find how torque loose are some of them. If both exhaust engine ports have excesive carbon accumulation would be a precise time to clean them properly, check steering shaft bushings for excesive lateral wear, change, clean salt crusts inside swivel bracket and grease well bushings and friction plate bracket. Will need to re adjust the steering load with nut to provide a proper tiller load when turning.
If base gasket is not excessively burnt can use it again, apply a thin coat of Mega Gray Silicone, retorque all lower crank case bolts tight.
Happy Boating
