Tohatsu M15A prop shaft housing

I'm about to have the prop shaft housing welded. I'm worried that the heat will damage the bearing's on the inside of the housing. Should I remove them? If so How is that done? I've removed the oil seal.
P.S. I'd buy a new one if I could find one. I'm paying a welder around $100 to fix the old one.

If you want to remove the forward bearing, you casn use a special long-arm puller, or fill the cavity behind the beaqring with #2 grease, insert the prop shaft, and rap it with a mallet to drive it out hydraulically.
