Tohatsu m25c2 prop?

I recently got the above motor. The prop is in pretty rough shape. The only markings I can find on it appear to be a stamped 2 0 on blade. I have never seen a 20 degree prop in this size. When I took the boat out for the first time with 2 buddies it would not plane out. I'm not sure if the prop is just damaged that bad or if it's just over propped. The boat is a 1448 flat bottom jon. Any help would be nice. If I need to order a new prop I'm thinking 10 degrees is probably what I need since I'll normally have a heavy load.

Welcome to Iboats,

Those 25 usually comes with 13 pitch prop factory delivered, which find being overpropped for most light applications, we usually change for 11 pitch props. A 10 will wok much better if loaded. Would advise to get an induction tach with new prop to check if achieved 5850 max wot revs or over revved....Must set firing sequence to 180? or 2 pulse per revolution depending on tach brand.

Thanks for the input. I took the prop to a prop shop today he told me the hub was burned up. If it is, why wasn't my motor over reving instead of failing to go WOT? Either way I guess my next step is to order a new prop.

How old is the OB, is current prop a factory delivered OEM one ? have not seen a 20 whatver prop stamped on any Tohatsu prop body. Range from 8 to 14 pitches. Befor ordering a new prop blindly have it measure at a prop shop to know exact pitch size, probably a 10 pitch would over rev...? Post whatever pitch was found...

BTYW, can pas that 25 to a 30 HP for peanuts costs. With an OB/transom height optimization & prop maximization included combo will fly with 2 up..
