I've been doing as I've been told and running my carb dry at the end of the day, every day. My question is this: What's the right procedure? Do I just let it run until it stalls? I've actually played with the choke a bit as it gets close to stalling. I can keep it going a little longer and I figure that gets rid of even more gas. Is this good, bad or indifferent?

Also, I know that running it dry leaves a small amount of gas behind that generally doesn't cause problems. However, if I know that I'm going to be leaving the boat for a bit longer than normal at what point does it make sense to pull the cowl and drain the remaining gas out of the bowl? 1 week, 2 weeks, a month?

Thanks.

Running untiul dry is typically OK; fiddling with the choke will draw some more, which is even better. If a month or more, such as for off-season storage it's best to drain.
