Re: tohatsu ob motors

I have a 70p Nissan, same engine, no problems with engine other than normal maint stuff, etc. Down here, however, they are a pain in the rear to find anyone who works on them and to even get parts to do yourself is tough

Re: tohatsu ob motors

One of the best made outboards around...my buddy has a 40 Hp on a boat exactly the same as mine...runs a little faster than me and my Merc 3 cyl 40 HP, only thing I got on him is hole shot. I have 59 cu. in. and he's got 42 cu in his, weighs 158 lbs and mine weighs 211 lbs....we're lucky though, here in S. Florida..we have 3 dealers within 20 miles of us. If I could not have a Merc, I would own a Tohatsu/Nissan.......Two year warranty on 2 cycle outboards too...They are somewhat an old outboard company thats been around a long time and the 40 and 50 HP models are the hottest thing on the racing circute now..... <br />I might add that most of their motors are very light weight and very high performance thoroughbreds. Take 20% of of list on their web site and thats what you should get the motor for. Pricing INCLUDES; prop, combo tach, and control if its a remote electric model. Don't let the dealer BS you that its not......as you can see, prices are very attractive.
