Too many gaskets for water pump

At last all the parts have arrived, so now i get to replace the impeller and pump housing on my ALPHA R,
I followed the instructions but seem to have 2 gaskets the thinest ones, left over?? have i gone wrong or does the sierra kit contain extras for other aplications?

The kit contains all the gaskets for an MC1 up to an MR, so depending on which specific drive you have, you will have leftover gaskets.

I feel your pain. I did the same job recently. I had the genuine Mercruiser kit, and it had lots of extra bits too. I followed the Service manual step by step, replaced what it said, but I would still like to know what the extra bits are.

I really wish that you had an inventory list that came with all the repair parts what would state what and how many of each item is in there.

I bought extra seal/washers for the drive drain and vent screws only to find out they were included with the pump repair kit. Extras are always handy, though.

yes its ok, just a bit worrying when you do the job for the first time, but there are some pretty clued up blokes on here, some of them really helpfull considering that i am on the other side of the pond!
I usually get there in the end, so far so good,
