took upper gear housing off and no shims

have a volvo 572a dp-c outrive and recently replace bellows and when i took the housing off like don explained there were no shims do i need to get some ? where do they go ? boat has ran fine the 4 years ive had it withoiut them

nevermind i overlooked it in the manual i see where they sre now and they stayed in and did no come out thats why i didnt see them they stayed in the hole thanks again and sorry
