Hi All,

I have a 1986 Johnson 28 hp SPL. Due to a broken stud hole, I'm replacing the front part of the crankcase. I haven't been able to find the bolt torque specs to use for putting it back together. Also the torque specs for the intake manifold. Any help with them or a link to where I can find them, would be appreciated.

Thank you for the link. Here is a picture of the broken piece. It's the stud that holds part of the starter bracket. I don't know anything about what can and can't be welded. Do you think there may be a fix for the break?

Maybe, i dont know enough about welding to say. You could try jbweld, thats a very strong epoxy and maybe use a hole tap to drill a little further in. Ive never seen a case snap like that

Well-----That is the stud on the front.------To the upper right of the carburetor.-----Take it to a welding shop to see what they can do with it.
