can anyone tell me the specs for a1990 90 hp evinrude rod crank head ect

JoBassing.... Con Rod=29-31 foot lb. Main bearing bolts=18-20 foot lbs. Cyl head=18-20 foot lb. Flywheel nut=105 foot pound.

thanks joe rod bolt came lose thats way it's apart any idea why it would happen

Jobassing.... The only reason a connecting rod bolt would come loose would be that....<br /><br />1 - It wasn't torqued properly in the first place.<br />2 - The wrong connecting rod cap was installed, or the proper cap was installed backwards.<br />3 - The engine was running lean (in which case, the crankshaft should also be damaged).<br />4 - The bolt has lost its temper (strength). Replace the bolts on that rod just on general principles.

i was thinking it wasent done right when it was rebuilt i'm replaceing the rod and had it bored 30 over new pistons and all new rod bearings the crank cked out fine but how do i tell if my oil pump is working right so i don't have a problem and throw 800 bucks out the window

Jobassing.... To check a VRO, run the rebuilt engine with a oil mixture in a portable tank along with the regular VRO setup. Clamp the oil line with a small pair of vice grip pliers near the engine. The warning horn should sound off (every other second) within a short time as it is obviously not drawing oil. If you get no warning, either replace the VRO or eliminate it.
