But upon further review, most members here will question the short wheelbase of the trike, the load capacity of a 1/4"axle, the lack of a Class III hitch and the impracticality of using the safety chain as a towing device. Many will question the ultimate horsepower vs. Cheerio intake/kidpower of the tow vehicle. Some will suggest additonal braking be added with an actuator mounted to the handlebar warning bell. Proper lighting would be in order, and check for weatherchecking in the tires. Others will question the use of a front wheel drive on a steep ramp.
Me however, will wait for the YouTube video of the launch and retrieve.

Alright, this post is rediculous... You should be ashamed of yourself:facepalm: If Your Gonna make your kid tow the boat with his trike, the least you could do is give him a pair of shoes so he can get more power to the pedals!!!:p;)

yea, he likes to fish when there biting, then when it gets hot, he goes tubin, and then he takes a break under the bimini top with a bolgna sandwich and some cool ade, then goes for an afternoon swim, then sleeps like the baby h on his way home, if he dont have to pull the boat home of course.

Sounds just like a five year old's float plan:rolleyes:!!! How old is he? I've got two sons (7&2). They love the boat. It's probably their favorite thing... Boats and children usually add up to the greatest memories.

In case I havn't mentioned it, Those are a couple of terriffic pictures:D. Asking him what he was doing, and his response "Going to the lake"... That's priceless!!!

Thanks for sharing...

Re: towing a pontoon

he was 3 in the pic but just turned 4 this dec. he has 2 older siblings, our oldest is a 6 yr girl, and his older bro. is 5, and all 3 love goin out. and it does make the best of times, i am a very lucky guy to have a family that all like to go to lake and do all that
fun stuff.
and thanks i think the pics that are taken naturaly are a whole lot better then the pics that everyone gets dressed up for at sears or what not. (it seems to really show the personality of the family more)

Couldn't agree more... the spur of the moment pictures capturing what's happening without artificial influence are always the best!!! Nothing more natural than what happens naturally:rolleyes:;).

Even though it's front wheel drive, I would suggest changing the gear ratio of the tow vehicle. At 1-1, your mileage will definitely suffer and the vehicle will overheat on long hauls. Go to at least 2-1. Don't worry about the short wheelbase: 18 wheelers are bobtails too and they tow 52 foot boxes and sometimes doubles--depending upon state laws.

I would also suggest adding proper lighting so that in the unlikely event of towing past bedtime, he won't get a citation.
