Hey guys - towing about 3000lbs behind an Escalade - We will be in MN this summer, was thinking about taking the family to Mt. Rushmore on the way home to CA......This will take me thru Wyoming - via - I-90, I-25, I-80. I do NOT have trailer brakes.

What do think?

You'll be fine. We took a trip last summer from MN through all the tourist areas in SD, did the needles highway and devils tower then yellowstone. Towing about 5K with a fully loaded pickup. The roads in that area are not very steep.

I agree, unless something catastrophic happens, you should be OK.

You are probably well over 3000# and thus illegal in most states. If my family was in the truck, I'd want trailer brakes.

Based on what? An old style 19 ft bayliner weighs barely over 2000lbs + another 500 for the trailer.

My 2005 195 classic weighs in well under 3K with a full tank of fuel and the normal boat junk that we haul on board
