Towing question

First time posting here, looking for some help. I just bought an older 24" Aqua Patio Executive Cruiser. Great deal on boat, motor and scissor type trailer. I will be doing some restoration but only minor stuff, as boat is good all around with the exception of the upholstery and top. I have yet to bring it home to start on it.
My question is a little of everything as far as towing goes.
1) I have a 2005 Nissan Pathfinder 4.0 6 cylinder with a towing capacity of 6k lbs, 600 lb tongue weight. Is this enough vehicle to handle this boat?
2) Can the trailer I got (scissor type) be used for traveling or just for moving from home to lake? Lake is around the corner.
3) If I cant use the trailer I have (Can't buy a new pontoon trailer and none available used right now) I'm thinking of buying a used regular boat trailer and modifying for pontoon. Can I get away with a 20' or 22' trailer modified and should it be single or tandem axle?

Thanks for any help!

PS - I will post some before and after pics of projects

Re: Towing question

1) yes, you are fine
2) scissor trailers can be used for longer distances, although not ideal. Just watch tire pressure carefully, and use good tires. Also make sure there is a secondary safety mechanism if possible on the scissor to keep it from dropping down when you least expect it.
3) don't modify, it will cost you far more than a pontoon trailer. But unless you are traveling a long distance each trip, the scissor will be fine.

Be very careful on sharp quick turning especially at low speeds.

+1 EVERY pontoon I've seen on its side OR laying on the highway was on a Rail/Scissor trailer. One was my Grandpa....... Had 5-6 gallon gas cans on the deck, dropped the wheels off a tall curb leaving a gas station, gas cans slid to that side, and over she went! Lucky it was a SLOW speed and with the help of a few people got pushed back on its wheels. Another was someone who didn't have a safety chain and the cable broke leaving the pontoon in the middle of a Friday evening , get outta town, traffic jammed 3 lane!

Thanks for the quick response!
Picked it up today and it traveled like a charm. Trailer had a safety cable for secondary mechanism.
Trailer came with boat and needed new tires, light kit and bearings. Took care of all that first and transport went off without a hitch.
