1990 Toyota Corrolla, automatic tranny
Okay, last night, on my way home from work, I stopped at a gas station, and when I got back into my car, start it....nothing....just a faint click, click, click, click.
A jump start, started it no problem.
I drove home and parked it.
This morning, same thing. Just a faint click, click, click....then nothing.
I checked the battery and it is fully charged.
Nothing was left on, to put a drain on the battery.
A jump start started it no problem, once again.
I checked all the fuses...all are fine.
Since this car is a 1990, is it possible to take the positive cable off of the battery, while the car is running, to see if it is alternator that is the problem?
I know that, on newer cars, you cannot take the cables off of the battery, since it will cause electrical problems.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
B.C.
