Hey guys, first post so go easy on the new guy. I have a 12ft sears v hull rowboat style boat with a 1988 johnson 9.9 2 stroke short shaft running the OE 9.5x10 prop. I want to get another prop and use so I can keep the OE one for a spare. Does the TP Rascal really out perform the OE props on these little engines as they claim. The current prop is an old school looking design with the real swoopy "S" shaped blades. The Rascal looks to be of a higher performance oriented disign. My boat gets on plane with no problem and runs pretty good so I would be pleased if it could at minimum duplicate the OE's performance, but if it performs better than that's just icing on the cake. So does any one have experience with them on here? I did a forum search and it didnt turn up too much. Thanks guys.

Re: TP Rascal Propeller????

Well I bought a rascal propeller and tried it out today and I am not impressed at all. when you go to take off from idle the engine revs to the moon and the boat takes about 5 times as long to plane out vs the oem prop. Top speed with the 9x10 rascal 25.2, top speed with the 9.5x10 oem prop 26.8, same day same load 10 minutes between the two tests. The oem prop puts me on plane very quickly, the rascal not so much. It'll get me home as a backup but it won't see regular duty.

Heres the response Turning point gave me when I emailed them about said issue.
James:

We recently found out in some cases, there are too much exhaust came out the gap between Evinrude lower unit and the propeller. We are currently working on an add-on ring to close the gap. Will send you the part as soon as it's available.
