TR 1 Autopilots

Has anybody had any experiences with sending TR 1 autopilot parts back to Garmin and getting replacements?
I remember reading somewhere they they will exchange old parts for new at a considerable discount over just buying new parts.

My TR-1 pump unit had a leak in the base so I contacted Garmin and this is what they sent back.


"Please call us at 800-800-1020 anytime from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm CST, M-Th, 8:00am-5:00pm F to set up an order. We will need to create the order for you first before we can give you an address to ship the unit to.
The flat rate fee is $260 if the pump can be removed from the ECU."


the turn around was quick as well, they replace it with a rebuilt unit that had a 1 year warrantee, seemed to work ok
