Tracker livewell question

I have a 2010 tracker pro team 175 that I bought last year. Just now started fooling around with the livewell to keep bait in but I'm having trouble and feeling stupid.

First, it empties out the water in there and read that you're supposed to use a plug and I didn't have one. Bought an attwood t handle thingy, the same I have for the main boat plug. Tried it today, doesn't work well, will come out with water in it and will be floating around. Am I doing it wrong or maybe I got the wrong size? Is there something else I can use in a pinch cuz I'm planning on going tomorrow too.

Second, my model has a recirc and an aerator switch. The aerator has two modes, up - pumps water in for 1 minute then 3 minutes off and down- continuous. I'm not sure what the recirc does other than emptying the livewell when the nozzle head in the tank is pulled out.

So basically I'm asking for general livewell operation tips, because the manual isn't very helpful and I'm apparently stupid.

Your plug is the wrong size. If you put it in no water should come out.

Regardless, you don't want a plug, you want a standpipe. The tank should fill up and then overflow out the pipe. That way the tank stays full and keeps fresh water flowing all the time.

Trackers are still in bizness. Call them with your model number to get the missing part.

I have an overflow drain as well, they should make all drain plugs universal in size lol..

If it has the overflow pipe already, find a dry stick, whittle it to fit the drain so it fits snug, but not to tight. The water will swell it to tight. Hey it'll get ya by till you get a correct plug.
