i'm helping a guy out with a head teardown to inspect a low cylinder (150-150-100-140)

i want to order a headgasket ahead of time so it can be rebuilt in time for his fishing tourney. also need carb kits, are the carbs 'oversized' as well?

can anyone tell me about these 115 to 135 conversions and which gaskets/carb kits i should be looking for?

And here in lies the problem with modifying engines for higher hp.... You have a bastardized engine... and it will be a bastard to get the right parts....

As this engine is no longer standard I suspect nobody will be able to help you with parts.... There is no modification for the 4 cyl 115hp engines to 135hp (which is a V6, that would take some pretty interesting boring!)... this is something someone has dreamed up, and you are left holding a very uncomfortable bag...

If you have the carb WME number, then we might be able to help you with gasket kits... If they're still standard....

Chris..........

P.S. the serial number you gave comes up as a 40hp... If I use 0G142684 I get a 115hp.... And it's not 1984, it's 1995....

awesome sleuthing on the 0G serial number. That in itself helps.

possibly the original seller to my client sold him a 'conversion motor' that was really a 115 on its 3rd oversize; who knows. i will report back to him with what you've said.

found out it is some factory mods

the motor is apparently a 115hp tracker pro, factory modded to a 135 nitro, rick clem special edition

i was given the dealers contact info, which happens to be one of my suppliers. so i will follow up with them for parts.

thanks

dealer said its a special edition which uses a performance carburetor kit and tuned exhaust. rest of motor is stock.

it also a cast head, with no head gasket

so the compression loss is definately a major issue now that a gasket has been ruled out.

all factory setup, inline 4 with 135hp.
