help, my livewell overflows with the pump on the drain standpipe drains slower then the pump pumps, could someone have put to big of pump in it. what size should be in it ?

A quicker pump was possibly put in. A good solution would be to install a timer. Rather than running it constantly, it'll run for a bit (30 seconds to a minute) every few minutes. That'll give it some time to drain the excess before it overflows. It'll be better on your battery too.

Have you checked the drain pipe and make sure it's not plugged?

I will get a minnow stuck in mine now and then, i take the garden hose and blow back through the pipe and that usually gets whatever is in there out.

Also check your fill tube and see if it has a flow knob to adjust the rate of water flow. Its usually located in the live-well.
