Question 1
I'm in the market for a new boat and I need the opinions from the boat champions of Iboats.com. I want to purchase a 18ft walk through with a 90HP or bigger. After doing some brief research the Tracker Targa has caught my eye. How does the tracker compare to other brands? is there a more suitable brad for the price? I'm an avid angler and im looking for a versatile fish hunting boat. I like Lund but I feel like you pay extra because it says Lund on the boat. I would greatly appreciate all advice given.

Question 2
Iv recently found a Tacket Targa that I like but it has a 2 stroke on it. Is there any pros to having a 2 stroke over having a four stroke? its a 2012 model and from what hear 2 strokes eat up a to of oil. Please advise.
Im Looking forward to reading responses and advise towards my new boat.

Re: Tracker Targa VS. The world!

I can't speak to the Targa but a friend of mine owns a 2013 Bass Tracker and it seems to be a good built boat offering plenty of bang for the buck. Would expect the same from the Targa.

If the 2 stroke in question is a Optimax I wouldn't worry about it at all. They are great on fuel and oil and the overall performance will be a little better than a comparable 4 stroke.

Tracker boats IMO are entry level if you want to compare it to a Lund. Not bad boats, I would aim a bit higher but it's personal choice, there are many very nice tracker boats, they just aren't a premium brand "to me". And 2 strokes are what the majority of outboards are. The newer 4 strokes are the minority, so unless you plan on buying new or close, you wont see many 4 strokes in the older types. Go price a 4 stroke outboard, then look at the used market for 2 strokes. For hunting and fishing, I'd say the tracker will do what ya want, your only limits are your budget. I'm bias, I owned a Lund with a 2 stroke, and it was by far, one of the best boats I owned. I now run a similar boat to the tracker, and it's quality is noticeably lacking. It's a Spectrum 19 with a merc 2 stroke. Does the job, but I'd rather a better built, quality boat like my Lund. There are many other brands to consider too.

Anything that says Tracker scares me,.......

I know people who have died because the boat sank,...SANK,..........

Google Tracker boat problems and see if you can find your answer there,...........

Good luck and stay safe,.......
