I believe that is the law now.
This meat can’t be sold so it can’t go to any place that will profit from it like restaurants and such.

KY has Hunters for the Hungry. This allows hunters to take Deer to a local processing center to be done to give away to food pantry's and low income places. The State pays for the processing

Some Counties in KY have no limit but due have a limit on Does. My County has a 4 Deer limit but only one Doe can be taken with a modern gun

Yeah that’s a healthy belly.
A buddy of mine had a cabin in NH and there were no Oak tress on his property so he would pay my kids to collect acorns by the 5 gal bucket and he would take them and spread them around the property. The deer and bears went crazy for them.

For sure deer love acorns, especially from white oaks😎
He really is fat and no agricultural fields anywhere near that spot. But we have had a really good mast crop here. Acorns were and still are raining down. Deer don’t bother much with hickory nuts till other food dries up but the amount of hickory nuts this year is more than I’ve ever seen. IT’S NUTS!!! 🤣
I parked my brand new truck at a buddy’s place not paying attention, yep right under a hickory. Wasn’t there 5 minutes and BAM hickory nut right on the hood. Nice dime sized ding ☹️.
