Hey everyone,

Hoping to find some info on replacement wheel cylinders for a 20' Trail-Rite tandem axle trailer circa 1986.

I started digging into the axle yesterday, but I didn't quite have the time to finish. I can only work on it in my driveway, but it has to be moved back to storage by the end of each day. Not super ideal for figuring out what parts I need. I'm hoping someone on here might know which one I need to buy so I only have to pull it apart once. I attached a picture of the drum in the event that helps.

Thanks!

It's cheaper and your better off to just buy the entire brake assemblies.

Replace the old with new and move on.

Trail-Rite Boat Trailers, Santa Ana, CA . . .

Trailer parts are generic. So you can buy from any trailer parts supplier. Agree with buying the entire brake assembly.

At least you have 'bearing buddies', so you got that going for you.

FWIW - I owned a Trail-Rite trailer when I had my 22 foot sailboat. I had to do an entire brake system soup-to-nuts, I went with stainless steel brake lines, but the drum brake assemblies never seemed to last that long, so I replaced those every few years, until I sold the boat/trailer.

Trail-Rite is no longer in business in case that matters. Pull the drum so we can see what's inside. However, if these brakes are original to 1986, just buy a whole new backing plate with a complete set of brakes. They're cheap.
