Re: Trailcar Trailer instructions
There are a couple of ways to use it. One would be the way it was designed, as a tilt, the other would be as a roller bunk.
If the water and the ramp are deep enough the easiest way is to back in far enough in to launch that the boat starts to float off. Then when retrieving back in far enough that the end of the trailer and roller are just under the water and it should wench straight up.
That is the rule much heard of as launch deep retrieve shallow.
If the ramp and water are very shallow then that is where the tilt function pays off. I often back in till the rear tires of the tow vehicle are just to the waters edge then unlock the tilt. Before you unlock the tilt male certian that the motor is raised all the way! Once the tilt bed raises the boat should roll right off. Then when retrieving leave the tilt lock unlocked, back in as with the launch. Connect the wench with the bow against the roller and wench it up.
I have done it this way by myself but it is easier with a second person. Sure makes getting in and out of unimproved ramps much easier!
