Trailer axle for VM trailer

Got to the lake the other day and walked around my trailer. I noticed the rim on the passenger side of the trailer was coated with grease and my bearing buddy was nowhere to be found.

Shook the wheel back and forth and it was not good. Outer bearing was gone (rollers gone). 2001 VM trailer towing a 185 BR Reinell.

The spindle was gouged BAD and needs to be replaced. Unfortunately it is welded to the axle so it appears I need a new axle.

I will most likely contact VM to get a replacement. My question is are there any other options to replace an entire axle other than going to the manufacturer of the trailer. Pretty sure I already know the answer but figured I would ask.........

Sure, go to a local trailer shop and order up an axle and hubs.
Tractor Supply, Farm and Home, or Champion Trailers dot com, are also options.

Other major trailer manufacturers will sell you an axle too.

yep what he said ^^^^

I just had great luck replacing the axle on my older trailer that had totally weird spindles I had trouble finding parts for with a Tractor Supply axle. It was incredibly inexpensive and practically plug and play. I'm also happy to have a more standard set up now.
