Re: Trailer axles?
Probably have the same result. Are you using an axle rated for the load the trailer is are carrying? Did the axle bow downward or upward. If it is bowed upward, that's the way it is supposed to be. It's called a cambered axle. If you buy a cambered axle, you need the proper type. The bow (camber) must always be upward. If the axle is mounted on top of the leaf springs the spring perches are mounted on the bottom of the axle. If the axle is mounted beneath the springs, the perches are mounted on top of the axle. Therefore, if you bought an axle intended to be mounted beneath the springs but flipped it so it could be mounted on top of the springs, the camber would be in the downward position giving you the impression the axle is bent. The same holds true for the opposite scenario. If you are buying straight axles, then a round or square style should make no difference if they are both rated for the same load.
