Trailer hardware question

Hi all, I am going to replace the equalizer hangers on a Tandem MagicTilt trailer I have. I have purchased the hangers and the hardware for mounting it to the frame, but I'm wondering about the bolt that connects the equalizer to the hanger. My inclination is to use grade 8 bolts, which I've already purchased, but the rest of the bolts on the trailer are galvanized. Should I be using galvanized instead of grade 8? Will Grade 8 resist rusting in salt water?

Thanks for the help

Grade 8 makes it easier to take apart without snapping bolts when rusted due to higher tinsel strength. The trailer doesn't need the higher strength because there should be no plans to disassemble in the future. Bare steel of any grade will rust, in salt water you need galvanized to slow the rust from developing

In my opinion

You want galvanized, not zinc plated hardware on a trailer used in saltwater.

Alright so even though it is is load bearing Galvanized should be strong enough? What grade is galvanized?

Grade 8 is good to #150,000 psi.
Grade 2 is good to #75,000 psi

1/2” bolt is 0.2 square inches

#30,000 per bolt
#15,000 per bolt

What does the boat weight?

Probably no more than 6500lbs with gear and fuel, so I'm assuming from your comment that galvanized is Grade 2. sounds like I should be good with that. Thanks for the help.
