I just got a trailer on a trade. It's never been registered in my state and I need to find weight info. Details follow. If anyone has one like it, or a book that lists trailer weights I would appreciate any details you have. The company is out of business and I have tried all the usual internet searches. Thanks

Built by Harding Trailers in Cape Coral Florida
It's a tilt type trailer, Galv alum.
Measures 16.5 feet fron tongue to rear. I can attach/send pics it it will help.

Re: Trailer ID help

You can weigh it at a truck stop.

Re: Trailer ID help

Should be a sticker on it that lists the serial/model and the capacity.

Re: Trailer ID help

Nearest truck stop that will do it is 60 miles north of me. That's Plan B.
Sticker is badly damaged. Mfg date, GW, SN all unreadable.
The lady at the DMV says if I tell her a weight she'll enter it and not make me present a weight slip. What's reasonable for that trailer 300 lbs?

Re: Trailer ID help

Put a bathroom scale under each wheel, then add it all up.

Do this only if the trailer is unloaded and you can lift the weight. otherwise you may break a scale

Re: Trailer ID help

The nice lady from the DMV (Yes, I used nice and DMV in the same sentence) looked up trailers close to mine turns out a 17 Ft Harding trailer weighs 345 Lbs. Thanks for the help!
