I have a 1954 Cadillac boat and motor. I'm trying to find out who built the trailer. It appears it's a 1954 also.
Serial# is 7 digit. (ED - - -54) Does any one have any ideas who could have made it.
Thanks guys

I'll wager it wasn't Cadillac. Guesses - Tee Nee, Cox, Mother Fletcher's Storm Door and Submarine Works - Trailer Division come to mind. What does the paperwork say?

By the looks of the tongue, I'm betting on
Mother Fletcher's Storm Door and Submarine Works - Trailer Division

Good luck, there were thousands of little regional trailer makers back then.

Why do you need to know? For registration purposes?

I restore things. I like to know all I can about what I'm working on. I see the fenders have what looks like decals that probably had the manufacture name. (they were panted over) If I can find information about the manufacture I can make replacement stickers. When I'm done, I want the boat motor and trailer to look the way it did when sold in 1954.

You could try to gently remove the paint over the decals. Maybe some very fine wet and dry paper. Probably kind of a crap shoot though.

Have to agree with this one. Late 1950's a few started using C channel framework. Also many of those smaller trailers were built very simular to the TeeNee.
