Trailer lights from new boat not working...

I ended up getting a trailer wiring harness installed on my Range Rover 09 and it's working fine (tested out on two trailers from u haul). Unfortunately, the trailer lights from my boat trailer don't seem to work. I have plugged and unplugged the connector like 5 times. The lights were working prior to me buying the boat, and now none of them work. Any ideas what could be causing it? Thanks.

Reference.....
Pin#1 = White = Ground
Pin#2 = Brown = Tail Lights
Pin#3 = Yellow = Left Brake/Turn
Pin#4 = Green = Right Brake/Turn
Pin#5 = Blue = Brakes or BackUp (Brake Disable)

Ground is common to all functions.
That is the place to start.
The White Wire from the Trailer connector need to be securely attached to the trailer FRAME.

Check and make sure you have a proper ground. Also check for voltage past the plug in on the trailer side. If none then the trailer plug is bad. I would put my money on the ground wire missing or corroded.

daddie(not sure how I feel about saying that to you but ok...) where are you? and what is your mechanical background? are you somewhat handy or definitely not?

The reason I ask this is because first, if we knew where you were we may be close enough to help you personally.

Second, the way you are troubleshooting makes me think your not the mechanical type of guy, I could certainly be wrong but we don't know each other and please don't be offended.

and third has the boat lights ever worked on the range rover? Or is this the first time the boat has been hooked to the Range Rover? The Uhaul is good info but only to a certain point, we know the plug had voltage to it then but now we don't know for sure, the Range Rover plug could also be wired differently then the boat plug which is most likely the problem you are finding, further, if the plugs are wired differently you may have blown the fuse in the range rover trailer package.

To properly diagnose this you will need a DVM (preferably) or at the very least a test light, do you have either?

Did he tell you what was wrong?

90% of trailer light issues are caused by a bad ground.

It ha something to do with the ground, and there was one marker light out as well.
