The trailer with my new starcraft project needs a paint job.
I have arranged for it to get sandblasted, then I'll be painting it this coming Sunday.
Does anyone have a paint recommendation?

Re: Trailer Paint recommendation?

Welcome to iBoats!
A lot of the buys on iBoats have used and recommend good old Rustoleum Professional Oil based. Used with the Rust Primer it lasts for years, is easy to "Touch Up" if and when needed. Takes about a week to cure to a fairly Hard Finish. Do a search for rustoleum and I think you will find plenty of posts showing a lot of successful and happy users.

Re: Trailer Paint recommendation?

The trailer in the picture below was sandblasted, primed and painted with Rustoleum Rust Stop paint. I did the whole thing out of a can......12 years ago. That's right 12! Up until about 4 years ago it was used virtually every weekend. It has allot of problems now and it needs to be repainted. But I have to tell you for a spray can job, this paint lasted a long, long time. I have to think that a higher quality Rustoleum would even go longer and look better over time. I used a cheap sandblasting pot and spray cans. As I remember it took about $150 worth of paint. When I do it again, after I finish my boat, I am going to use Rustoleum again. But this time I will be using a Spray gun. Good stuff.
