Left side tire is wearing extensively on inside 1/2 of tread. Right side in same location but to a much lesser extent. New 3000lb axel added to trailer 2 years ago to permit installation of brakes. Boat and motor weigh approx. 1900lbs. Is it possible the axel is skewed? Is it possible it is caused by an inadequate axel that is splaying? Tks

Please ignore my post. I just found the forum and did not realize that by simply looking further, I could see I am not the first person to experience this problem. Got my answers as to what to look for. Great forum with great responses from knowledgeable persons!

Welcome to iboats!

So, what did you come up with? Since it's a relatively new axle, it's hard to believe it's failing. Is it mounted upside down

Sounds like you have a bent axle, either toe is out and or camber, if its camber the tread blocks should be smooth, if its toe then you will have feathered tread blocks.
