Re: Trailer Weight

The only way to truly know, is to weigh it. Find a truckstop, they have "CAT" scales that are available for a fee (usually under $10). Or if you have a local gravel pit or dump, they might let you weigh it there. Anything other than weighing it, is just a guess.

Good luck.

Re: Trailer Weight

I have no guess, other than to say, more than 200lbs, less than 3000lbs.

If we are going to guess, it would be best to post a pic. What's it rated to pull? Does it have 13", 14" or 15" tires? 1 or 2 axles.

Trailers rated to pull a 19' alum boats can weigh far less than a trailer needed to pull a 19' fiberglass.

Re: Trailer Weight

Might want to check with the manufacturer and / or dealer that sells 'em. Or, go to scale. Depends why you need the weight - but guessing isn't the best way to go IMHO.

Re: Trailer Weight

Look on the trailer for a data plate/decal too. Maybe on the inside of a side rail near the hitch.
It might have a net weight listed.
Where did you get the vin number?

Can also weigh at bulk landscaping or farm supply places too.

If your needing it for registration purposes only then just say something like 547lbs.
If your confident in your guess and not obviously low balling them, they will usually go with what you say. Around here anyways.

Re: Trailer Weight

A guess, somewhere between 1 pound and 2 tons. You need to weigh the trailer, or contact the OEM and ask them.

Re: Trailer Weight

A rough guess on a single axle 19 footer would be about 800 pounds but everyone is right. The only way to know is to put it on a scale because there are different materials and sizes of tube or angle that go into trailer construction and that makes a big difference in what weight you come out with. We live in a rural area and every feed elevator has a scale and does it free.

Re: Trailer Weight

If it's small enough, lift one side, and slip a bathroom scale under a tire. Double that amount. Add the weight of the tongue. Voila!
