I am restoring a 24 jc pontoon. It does not have a hook for the front winch. The previous owners hood it to the first cross member and bent the crap out of it. Just need a little help on where to install one. I am new to the pontoon thing and any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks All. Please provide a picture if you can.

No pictures but, my old toon didn't have a winch hook point either. My solution:

Obtained a 1/2" x 3" x ? Inch aluminum plate stock. Using the 3 front cross members, plus 6-8" to get length. Drilled plate and cross members for 3/8" SS bolts, one in each.

Depending on hook size, drill two holes a couple inches apart on front of plate. Finish by using saber saw to make a slot for hook length wise.

I left 6" sticking out of front once plate was bolted to toon. Width of plate may be restricted by design of winch base.
