Hi All,
Hoping someone can offer some advise. I own a '87 Mastercraft 190 Prostar 19' and need to buy a trailer.

Does anyone have a used trailer that would fit this boat?

What should I be looking for if I buy a New trailer? ( i'm on a tight budget ). What weight? Single axl or double? Disc or drum brakes? galvanized? Thanks for the help.

John.
p.s. If you have a used trailer that will fit and live in the Bay Area or Seattle, drop me an email at jpola2001@yahoo.com Thanks.

Re: Trailer

jpola,

Trailers for competition ski boats are a special breed and are unusual. Most, if not all, of the comp. ski boat companies do not recommend any trailer but there own.

Re: Trailer

John, djohns19 is right about the special trailer needed for a competition ski boat.
But anything can be built. Call around and ask about custom made trailers. Depending on your boat size and weight, a single axle trailer should be fine.

As for the brakes, it depends on the weight on your boat (again), weight of the trailer and the local laws where you'll be trailering.

If you opt for the brakes, I would definitely pick discs. They are easier to clean, maintain, flush and work better. Just MHO.

Don't forget that you don't have to buy a steel trailer, aluminum is good as well - doesn't corrode so easily and is also lighter and usually cheaper.

Hope this helps.
Lou

Re: Trailer

Sound's to me like this could get expensive! Better check with a local custom trailer shop.
:(
