trailering with a volvo 290 i/o

i bought a transom saver today ,and had to return it cause the jaws were to skinny and the arm way to long for my volvo 290 out-drive . i see they make a trailering bracket ;http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Volv...ear?hash=item3a4997ab22&_trksid=p4506.c0.m245 ;but it says its for 270/280 out drives . my rams are not the kind they sell clips for. what am i supposed to do with this 290 Volvo while trailering to prevent it from coming down on the road,right now i have it tied up to the ski ring in the middle but that's to much flex on that ring i would think
