What is recommended and how hard to install? I am assuming it is just an extension of the radiator cooler.

Our old 92 already had one installed from the factory. May want to check that out first. It looks like a mini 10x10 radiator usually on the passenger side in front of the rad and condenser.

Yes, it is that easy, just add it to the lines that go thru the rad. Even if you have a secondary cooler (factory tow package) you can add another. Heat is what kills automatics and you can never have too much cooler.

I somewhat disagree. You can "overcool" the trans fluid. Overcooling leads to clutches slipping, electronic solenoid sluggishness and more wear, where you don't want it.

If you live in an area that experiences cold weather, the best routing of the cooler is:

Plumb the cooler to take trans output (hot) fluid, through the cooler and then through the radiator tank cooler and back to the trans.

Any decent trans. shop can do this for you. Even better yet, a Ford dealer can add this option, reasonably. If it were me, I'd choose the latter.

Nothing beats-OEM.

How do you over cool it when it goes thru the radiator?

Lot of people over cool it by having it go through the rad first, then a huge cooler or even two of them. I agree with the statment above, which is that you dont want to overcool it.
