I just bought a new 385ci for my Bayliner.
I have an older Piranha1 portable I use in my kayak. Can I use the old, original transducer with the 385ci. I realize the older one may be single beam (?..not sure) costing me some accuracy, but is it compatible? The old transducer is epoxied into my kayak, so if I can reuse it at all, it will save me a lot of time -would like the GPS functionality in the kayak. Thanks!

I suggest you give Humminbird tech support a call directly. I had a similar question for my old D-600 to operate on a D-120. The transducers were not compatible.

Re: Transducer compatibility Humminbird

worked fine - just no temperature. but in a kayak, I'm pretty much aware of that anyways :)

I love this new 385ci with the Navionics chip.... I've never had a chart plotter before... very cool.
