Transducer frequency

I have an Eagle Z-6100 fishfinder that transmits on 192 khz. I want to add a seperate sonar that will go down to a 3' depth and transmits on 200 khz. Would the transducers interfere with each other?

Are you talking about dropping a transducer to a 3 foot below the water level and transmitting from there, or to have only a 3 foot deep ability? Either condition is really hard to tell not knowing the frequencies both will be running on. It usually isn't so much the initial frequencies but the harmonics that does the interference. So it they are running different frequencies, all you can seriously do is try and see. Then if they do interfere, then switch one off while using the other... JMHO!

The one I have now only registers down to a 20' depth. The new one, sonar only, will register down to 3'. The old one transmits on 192 khz and the new one will transmit on 200 khz.

The actual frequency of the transducer is dependent on the thickness of the Crystal in the transducer.
From a manufacturing point of view, a couple of percent error in Thickness/Frequency will not matter one bit.
Your 192 might actually be a little high at 196 and the new 200 might be a little low at 196.

Or... They could be at 188 and 204, or anywhere in between. It will be a crap shoot.

The transducers are expecting to hear an echo at their transmit frequency but will also respond to anything close to the same frequency.
So your 192 might respond to a 200 echo or it might not, once again a crap shoot.

It is not possible to state with any certainty whether the two sonars will behave well together or not without trying them.
Someone else's experience with the same two sonar models will not be valid unless they were using your two transducers.

Most new sonars have a choice of frequencies that you can force. Usually 83 and 200.
The lower frequency is better for deeper water (>200ft) so unfortunately the skinny water choice is going to be the 200 setting.

FWIW, I have a lowrance that runs at 192 and a Hummingbird that runs 200/83. If I run both I have to run the Hummer on 83 only, if I run it on 200 I get bunches of lines on the screens.

I checked with Hawkeye and the sonar I want only runs on 200. Sinice that is to close to the 192 my fishfinder is running on it looks like I will have to only run one at a time. Which is fine as I will only need the sonar only one in shallow bayous.
