I am looking at installing a fish finder soon. I already have a transducer for the depth finder along with another plastic thing (sorry, new to boating) that I would assume tracks the speed. If I installed the transducer from the fish finder next to these two existing ones, would I get get interference of any kind that would give me bad readings on the fish finder?? Thanks

What is the transducer already on the boat connected to, anything? perhaps an old deapth finder? No you should not get any interference from the old one or the speed pick up tube.

Sorry, the existing transducer is connected to a depth finder that I use now on the pontoon.

Re: Transducer interference??

They could interfere with each other if they are on the same frequency. Some of the finders have dual frequency transducers. One for a wide beam and on for a narrow. That is what I use with I have both going at one time. Make sure when you mount the transducer that it is just below the hull so when on plane it is still fully in the water and that you mount it so it is between the bunks on the trailer so it does not get smash while trailering.

Noticed that you are in Wyoming. If you are fishing deep water like Flaming Gorge you will want the duel beam for the narrow beam to get to the bottom where the Macs are.

Thanks for the help! I guess i just didn't even think about it, but I could just turn the depth finder off that is already on the boat & just use the depth reading from the fish finder.
