Transducer mounting for a Helix 5

Just purchased a Helix 5 DI GPS. Trying to figure out the best place to mount the transducer. Boat is an 04 Caravelle 187. Here are a couple pics of the stern. I was thinking of mounting it next to the speedo pick up. Thanks for info.
