Transducer Question

My 1992 Ranger 391V has a step pad. Do I need to mount the transducer for my new humminbird 787c2 on the step next to the drain hole? Or can I place it over on the starboard side above the step? Need some help. I really do not understand where to place this thing.

You might be better off asking in the electric non engine forum also.

The lower you place it in the well next to or in front of the drain plug the better the sensitivity.

Just make sure to sand down the area and mash out all the bubbles in the Epoxy.

Never use Silicone.
