I have seen alot of this acc for the inner part of the transom under the mounting screws. It is basically a strip of lite gauge metal and either glues or srews into the inner transom and is suppose to help support the transom weight from the motor. Also keeps the washers from "digging" into the glass and possiblly cracking it. Is it a good idea or is it just another thing that is being sold for peice of mind. I am thinking of adding it to mine since it is such a old boat but if it is just a extra weight that isnt useful in the long run i may just skip it. To me it sounds like it may be a good idea. Not sure and looking for input before i through more money at the boat un-needed. SORRY I MEANT FOR THE POST TO BE IN THE RESTORE NOT ELECTRICAL FORUM.
